A capsule celebrating Lovenskate’s relationship with Japanese shop and distribution ‘Golden Age’ containing board and t-shirt illustrated by Lovenskate employee, skateboarder extraordinaire and all round safe bloke Sol Dhariwal-Bisset. You can read all about him in skateboarders Companion.
The illustration is based on a story about the Hiondu god Krishna. A striking stories when the great serpent Kaliya poisoned a river. Krishna did not simply defeat it by force but instead, he danced gracefully upon the serpent’s many heads, subduing its power. Through movement rather than violence, he calmed the poison and the fury. In the end, he forgave the serpent and allowed it to live.It is a story that celebrates harmony and mercy over destruction, and one that fits very well with both Golden Age and Lovenskate.
